Indiana is home to the SECOND-WORST-RATED McDonald’s in America, but apparently the Golden Arches are trying to get back on Hoosiers’ good side by bringing back the legendary McRib!
A national analysis of customer reviews ranked the McDonald’s in Goshen, Indiana, as the second-worst-rated location in the entire country, earning a miserable 1.99 out of 5 stars. Only a McDonald’s in Surprise, Arizona, reportedly scored worse. The ranking was based on online customer reviews, not health inspections.
But maybe McDonald’s has a peace offering for Indiana. According to WTHR, the McRib is officially returning to participating Indiana restaurants on Monday, October 26, for a limited time!
The famous barbecue-covered pork sandwich, topped with onions and pickles, has been dividing Americans since 1981. Some people swear it’s one of the greatest fast-food sandwiches ever created, while others can’t understand why people get so excited about a processed pork sandwich drenched in barbecue sauce.
Of course, McDonald’s hasn’t actually connected the McRib’s return to Indiana’s embarrassing restaurant ranking, but the timing makes for a pretty hilarious coincidence.
And while the McRib might bring some customers back, there’s a bigger conversation about McDonald’s these days. Between rising menu prices, shrinking value for the money, inconsistent customer service, broken ice cream machines and complaints about food quality, plenty of longtime customers say the Golden Arches just aren’t what they used to be.
So what do you think, Indiana? Is the McRib really THAT good, or is it just another overhyped sandwich? And has McDonald’s gotten worse over the years, or are customers expecting too much from fast food?
